Home / Ms. Christine Pila – 12 Years of Service
“Being part of this evolution has been rewarding because it reflects the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and adopting smarter ways of working”
If you walk into the Head Office and make your way to the first floor, you’ll find Ms. Christine Pila, the Collections Supervisor, keenly keeping things on track. For 12 years, she has been part of the company’s everyday rhythm, showing dedication, resilience, and genuine care in the work she does. Her steady presence and commitment continue to support both her team and the organization’s ongoing journey.
I started on November 6, 2013 as an Accounting Assistant. Back then, most of our work was done manually, although there were times when we ran out of tasks despite everything being manual. At that time, SNRDC had only a few employees, so it was easy to coordinate and close tasks within and outside your department because everyone knew each other well, and workloads were concentrated among a small number of people. What I remember most is that even though we were few, you could get answers quickly from anyone whenever you needed help with your work assignments. There was no passing tasks back and forth, and any issues or concerns were addressed promptly.
What has motivated me to stay with the company for so many years is the sense of teamwork, learning, and accountability I experienced from the start. I began as an Accounting Assistant, when the company had only a few employees. This allowed me to quickly learn from colleagues, take ownership of my tasks, and see issues resolved promptly. Today, my commitment continues to be inspired by the company’s supportive culture, the trust placed in me, and the opportunities to grow professionally. The positive relationships I have built and the chance to contribute to the team’s success motivate me every day to give my best.
Over the years, the company has undergone significant transformation, particularly in how tasks are processed. When I first started, most of our work was done manually, which required more time and effort. Today, I am proud to have witnessed and contributed to the shift toward more computer-generated processes. This innovation has not only made our work faster and more efficient, but it has also greatly improved accuracy and reduced errors. Being part of this evolution has been rewarding because it reflects the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and adopting smarter ways of working.
My advice to new team members would be to embrace learning and teamwork from day one. Take the time to understand the processes, ask questions when you’re unsure, and observe how experienced colleagues handle tasks efficiently. Building strong relationships within your team will help you navigate challenges more easily, and being proactive in learning new tools or systems, especially as the company continues to innovate, will make your work more accurate and effective. Finally, take ownership of your responsibilities, and don’t be afraid to contribute ideas; your initiative and commitment will help both you and the team succeed.
As we come to the end of this feature, we hold space for the stories of our tenured employees—stories shaped by time, sacrifice, and commitment for the company. Through changing seasons and challenges, they chose to stay, to believe, and to give their best even when recognition was not always loud.
May these stories move us, reminding us that commitment is shaped over time—through perseverance, adaptability, and a deep sense of purpose. These are stories of individuals who stayed the course, embraced growth, and continuously gave their best, leaving a lasting impact on the organization and the people they worked with.
This tribute is not only for those featured, but for all who have chosen to stay. Truly, SNRDC is deeply grateful to you—for the years you have given, the values you have upheld, and the heart you continue to bring to the work.
Gratia et Honore.
