DHSUD to Hold Dialogues With HOAs; Initiative Seen to Support Community Development and Real Estate Sector
According to a January 15, 2026 post on the official website of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the Department will conduct dialogues with various homeowners associations (HOAs) to address grassroots concerns and strengthen community governance.
The dialogues, led by senior DHSUD officials, will initially cover HOAs in the National Capital Region, with similar engagements planned for Region IV-A. DHSUD said the initiative follows the directive of Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to bring government services closer to homeowners and recognize HOAs as partners in nation-building under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr..
DHSUD also reported that the dialogues aim to help HOAs better understand housing policies, registration requirements, and election procedures to prevent disputes and promote informed leadership. As of end-2025, more than 26,000 HOAs and neighborhood associations are registered with the Department.
For real estate developers such as Sr. Sto. Niño de Cebu Resources and Development Corporation (SNRDC), the DHSUD initiative supports more orderly community management and smoother coordination between developers and homeowners, contributing to sustainable and well-managed residential communities.
